Over the past period, a wealth of details have been revealed about Final Fantasy 16, including gameplay. We've also learned about difficulty options, and a demo will soon be available two weeks before its official release. But one interesting detail that hasn't yet been revealed is the game's engine.

I didn't do it reveal Square Enix, the developer of the upcoming Final Fantasy 16, has revealed the engine used in its development. From their perspective, this information is technical, and the main focus is on the gameplay that matters to the player, but unexpectedly, the game is not developed using Unreal Engine 5 or the in-house studio's Luminous engine.

In a new video on the Skill Up channel, we spoke with the development team about the engine used in the game's development process. Square Enix revealed that it is not using the Luminous Engine or even the Unreal Engine, and unfortunately, the company did not reveal the nature of the engine used in the development of the expected game, but we can only wait for the game to be released to learn more details about the engine used.

In previous news, we learned about the game's cinematic count, which will be approximately 11 hours. Game producer Yoshida has previously stated his opinion on JRPGs, saying they offend and negatively impact Japanese developers as two-word elements that describe their games and distinguish them from standard RPGs.

Final Fantasy 16 officially arrives on PS5 on June 22, exclusively and securely.
