The digital data is in. Hogwarts Legacy's opening week was 56% bigger across Europe than Elden Ring. It's the biggest game launch outside of FIFA and Call of Duty since Red Dead Redemption 2.

According to GamesIndustry editor Christopher Dring, who posted on Twitter that according to weekly digital game sales data in Europe, “Hogwarts Legacy” has managed to surpass the massive launch sales of games several years ago. Its digital launch in the region is 56% higher than what Elden Ring achieved when it launched last year in the same month.
With games as tough to beat as FIFA and Call of Duty, Hogwarts Legacy has had the biggest launch in Europe since Red Dead Redemption 2 launched in 2018. The game has had a solid start on Steam. According to SteamDB, Hogwarts Legacy has had over 879,308 active players, the second-highest single-player title on Steam. The top spot goes to Cyberpunk 2077.
