Several rumors have surfaced that Sony's leaked sci-fi project is being developed by the well-known team People Can Fly. This is the team that recently introduced its latest project, Outriders, to us as a cross-generation game.
Last week, several seconds of leaked footage of what was supposedly an unannounced Sony title surfaced online. The original leaker described it as a “sci-fi RPG.” It appears to be something Sony’s XDev studio, which typically supports external developers on its PlayStation-based projects, is working on. Given the aforementioned studio’s usual role, it’s believed this project is being led by another third-party team, reportedly Outriders developer People Can Fly.
Via a post on ResetEra, it was pointed out that the leaked screenshots appear to have the word “Red” in the bottom right corner of the screen. The name “RED” was the codename for the People Can Fly project, which the developer said was in a “technical development phase” in 2021.
If we dig deeper, the evidence makes sense. Especially since PCF specializes in third-person fantasy games. And these specs are exactly the same as the leaked design.
