Rumors have been swirling in recent weeks that The Last of Us 3 may be in development. This information began to surface after series director Druckmann spoke about the game's working terms. And now the series' character Joel has something to say.

The Naughty Dog team has not yet decided the future of the series and, while we await the final decision, Troy Baker, the interpreter of the character "Jules", stated that he would not mind returning to work on The Last of Us 3 if it happened and representing his beloved character.

Most players know exactly how the intended character ended, and if the new part follows the same approach, we won't see it. However, there is a strong possibility that the character will return, which is if the studio presents a story that falls between the first and second parts.

Speaking recently on the Last of Pods podcast, Baker said that while he doesn't yet know if the team will move forward with the series, if they do, he would certainly be happy to return as Joel. And follow up:

The gaming community is wondering if there will be a third part. I really don't know, and I didn't know there was a second part.

But if Druckmann wants me back, I certainly will.

A few days ago, a new rumor emerged through stronger sources than before, mainly TheLeak, which has a good reputation for publishing news and leaks. Where a report came in stating that the third part is in development for the PS5 device, taking into account the PS6 device. This indicates that the game could be targeting the last years of the current generation. To be released with an improved version on the next generation, as Sony did with the current parts.

What are your expectations, our followers? Will we see this project in the distant or near future? Or it may never see the light of day.
