We're less than four months away from the release of Spider-Man 2, the sequel that will bring together two spiders in an adventure. And now we have precise information about where the events of the game take place.

Spider-Man 2 was shown at the Playstation Showcase event about a month ago. It was noted during the review that at least three different cities will be featured where the game's events will take place, especially since the number of cities could be increased since the development team at Insomniac Games had confirmed that the map size would be twice the size of the map from the first part, which was released in 2018, as we mentioned here.

According to The Direct, the game will take place in at least three cities: Queens, Peter Parker's hometown; Brooklyn, Captain America's hometown; and Coney Island, which has been mentioned several times in the Marvel universe, most recently in the film Spider-Man: Part One, starring Tom Holland, and one of the villains he fought in it.

The show featured the city of Brooklyn, which is the area where Captain America grew up, and which the game's director, Brian, said would be a little different from what we know. Another city will be adjacent to it, which is Manhattan, and this city could be explorable, as the director said:

“Since these two areas are a bit smaller and more populated, I think you’ll find them very different from each other. We’ve prepared some unexpected situations that we haven’t done before, like a river battle between two cities, so I hope players will look forward to that.”

The city of Queens will be present in the game for the first time and, as we said, it is Peter Parker's hometown, and players will be able to visit Peter's house at any time, as the game's director said. The reason for adding the city, according to the director, is because it is considered the city where it all began, and in it, as the "friendly neighborhood" Spider-Man said, and continued:

“When you play in Queens, there’s much more of a neighborhood feel, smaller buildings. That’s why your net launchers will do so well in that area. Where you can swing on the ground if you want, or you can fly through it.

area or Coney Island

This all-new area will be a mix of Brooklyn high-rises and Queens smaller blocks, with more room to move around. The island’s famous landmark, the Ferris wheel, has been teased as the setting for a battle unlike any other in Spider-Man 2. This battle has been described as pivotal to the story and heartbreaking.

These are the cities that will definitely be in the game, our followers. We remind you that there is a great possibility of increasing it, or as suggested by the game director. The game will be released on October 20th of this year, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
