Insomniac Games has confirmed through the official Spider-Man 2 account that it is still on schedule for release in 2023.

This response came after some questions started spreading on social media platforms over not posting a new video of the game since its release earlier this year, as some suggested that the game may be facing development issues and could be pushed back to another date.

“don’t worry”. We are making good progress with a release date set for 2023. Reviewing games takes time, effort, resources and coordination.

This phase response could be a clear indication that the game is in the meantime being prepared for a gameplay overhaul during the upcoming period, and perhaps this has been prepared for the PlayStation Showcase event, which is believed to have been postponed to an unknown time due to Sony's stance on Microsoft's acquisition of the Call of Duty developer.

Spider-Man 2 was revealed at a PlayStation event earlier this year, as the game is being developed exclusively for the PlayStation 5. In describing it Bill Roseman From Marvel Games, it's a major update to everything we loved about the first Miles Morales game, and then some.

There are a lot of enemies. I can tell you that the story goes a lot and goes from Marvel's Spider-Man to Miles Morales, I don't want to give too much away, but this is our next big chapter, there are a lot of themes, a lot of characters from the first two games that you'll see here.

Insomniac Games Studio is also working on Wolverine, which is being developed under the leadership of Spider-Man: Miles Morales' game director, and the game is set to launch exclusively on the PlayStation 5 after the release of Spider-Man 2, but has not been given a release timeframe as of this writing.
