About an hour ago, the Steam platform completely stopped working, and the problem persists as of this writing. The gaming community is very upset, especially those waiting for the highly anticipated game Sons of the Forest to be released in a few hours.

It should be noted that the platform is unlikely to go down for all players worldwide. However, a large number of users have reported being affected by an unknown bug of unknown origin.

According to Down Detector, which tracks the status of known servers, there are between 9,000 and 11,000 reports of Steam crashes. This is likely simply a drop in the affected subscriber base. The reason has not yet been confirmed, but the most likely reason is the upcoming release of Sons of the Forest.
