Today, Japanese publisher Square Enix confirmed that sales of Forespoken were weak and didn't meet expectations. This comes after the game's release last January on PS5 and PC.

Forspoken received a lot of criticism even before its release. A demo of the game was released on PlayStation 5 devices, but it was plagued by technical issues, and despite player feedback, the final product didn't address these issues.

Square Enix President Yosuke Matsuda said in the company's financial results report last month:

“The reviews for the Forspoken game we released on January 24, 2023, were challenging, however, the game also received positive feedback for its movement features, including its fighting and parkour abilities, so it produced results that will improve our development capabilities for other games in the future.”

However, that's all Yosuke Matsuda Admittedly, the game's sales have been weak and lackluster. Therefore, there's a significant risk of a drop in the company's profits in the third quarter of fiscal 2023. Therefore, the company announced that it will continue working on the game to improve its performance and develop additional content, which is expected to be available this summer.

The additional content will compensate players for the original game's failure. It's also been confirmed that many updates will be released that will address technical issues. Do you think the game's upcoming additional content will be able to bring players back?
