There have been some reports that Sony is developing an Earbuds headset as well as a wireless headset for the PS5.

The source of this information came from Insider Gaming, which claimed to have obtained it through reliable internal sources. Where the source indicated that each of the two headsets will launch during the current fiscal year 2023, which ends on March 31, 2024.

The headphones, internally named Project Nomad, will have a battery life of up to 5 hours, the same as the battery life of Apple's AirPods. As with other earbuds, Sony's new headphones will have a special case through which the headphones can be stored and charged. In addition, there will be a USB-C port to connect the case to the PS5.

Additionally, it will be possible to use a USB cable to update the Earbuds when updates are provided by Sony, by connecting them to the PS5.

The same source also confirmed that Sony is developing a wireless headset with the internal name Voyager, which is also intended for the PS5. While the source indicated that Sony intends to launch the new headset around the same time as the launch of the Earbuds headset.
