Sony accused of “burying” small games on the PlayStation Store.

The battle continues between Sony and Microsoft, which is struggling to complete the acquisition of the Call of Duty maker, while Sony tries to stop it by all means. Microsoft's latest attack on Sony is that it burying small titles on the PlayStation Store, unlike Xbox.
Through the latest responses submitted by Microsoft to the CMA, it was mentioned by one of the anonymous developers under the name of “Market Participant E” as mentioned in the documents provided that Sony, unlike the Xbox Store, is working to hide or remove small titles and games from independent developers from the homepage to its own store.
The anonymous developer, which describes itself in the document as a company that primarily focuses on releasing video games on multiple platforms, including Xbox and PlayStation, says its game sales are stagnant on PlayStation, while they are clearly improving on Xbox.
This developer justified that Sony is interested in boosting sales of big titles that come from big publishers and developers and give them priority to appear in the showcase, or from companies that pay to promote their games on the PlayStation Store.
Furthermore, this anonymous developer says that “small titles” rarely appear naturally to PlayStation owners, where these players need to know the name of the game in advance and then search for it on the PlayStation Store to access it.
On the other hand, this developer claims that the Xbox Storefront, which has special sections for these small games, in addition to the Xbox Game Pass service interface, allows more people to find their games quickly and easily. So even though Xbox has fewer players and sales than PlayStation, their games sell better on Xbox. In fact, it seems that revenue from new games is higher on Xbox than on PlayStation.
For this reason, this developer believes that Microsoft's acquisition of Activision will be good for them, and one of the reasons is that it will put pressure on Sony to improve its store.
