There have been some leaks that the Uncharted series will be relaunched in a new way. The developer has already received the green light from Sony to begin the development process.
According to a report published by Theleak, an unknown studio will take over the development process of the new game, but Naughty Dog Studio is expected to help the new team in some stages of development.
It is worth noting that the last part of the series was Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, released in 2015, and the game achieved sales of more than 15 million copies by 2019. Despite this success, the developer confirmed through official statements that the fourth part is Nathan Drake's last adventure.
These statements didn't end the series, they just ended Drake's adventure. Which could open the door for a new adventure with a different direction in the future, and it seems that's what Sony is planning at the moment.
Furthermore, this is not the first time we have received rumors talking about reviving the series, as several sources have spoken in recent months about the existence of attempts within PlayStation to rework the series without any official statement yet.
As the saying goes, “There’s no smoke without fire,” and it has become thick smoke with these leaks and rumors that have been repeating themselves throughout the year, and the question now remains, when can Sony reveal its new gem if these leaks are true.
It seems that Sony will end this year without holding any major event through which it can share with us some of the mysterious PlayStation Studios projects it is working on. By all indications, we will have to wait until next year to get new information about the company's schedule for its next projects.
So far, what are your expectations about these leaks and the return of the Uncharted series in a new Reboot form?
