Rumor: PlayStation State of Play event next month and a big event before June.

Apparently, Sony is preparing to compensate the PlayStation audience, which has lost several events in recent months, and the beginning, according to one of the sources, will be with the holding of the PlayStation State of Play event next March, while Sony holds a larger Showcase event in June this year.

The source for this information is Jeff Grubb, who made this information public via the Game Mess Decides podcast recently. But Grubb advised the PlayStation community not to overdo the State of Play event, which is expected to be small and focus on a few indie titles.

On the other hand, Grubb indicated that Sony will hold a larger Showcase event in June (6), in conjunction with the E3 2023 exhibition activities.

The source added that this event will show Sony many of the big titles coming to PlayStation 5 platforms, including Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which is expected to release before the end of this year.

This isn't the first time rumors have circulated about the existence of a PlayStation event, as there have been plenty of rumors since last year, but Sony, as of writing this report, has not teased any new events.

However, with Microsoft holding an Xbox event last month and more recently the Nintendo Direct, it could now be Sony's turn to hold a similar event to showcase its upcoming titles this year.

Sony recently settled for releasing a video that includes first-party and third-party titles that will be released on PlayStation devices in 2023, which includes 23 titles.

Some experts believe that Sony is avoiding holding a major event to showcase its exclusive titles due to its focus on stopping Microsoft's acquisition of the Call of Duty developer, as these experts believe that Sony's review of any of its upcoming major titles exclusively on PlayStation devices could be used against it and weaken its position vis-à-vis Microsoft.

In any case, this information is still just rumors, nothing more, and we do not know if Grubb has a private internal source who has access to this information, or if it is just speculation, nothing more, and that is what we think is probably on our part, but we do not forget that Grubb is an informed media source and has good experience in analyzing and anticipating the next steps of companies.
