Rumor: Suicide Squad game delayed due to audience backlash

Developer Rocksteady waited a long time after officially announcing Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League to finally show off the first gameplay trailer last month. But after showing off the long-awaited gameplay last month, the game has received some backlash from fans.

According to the latest report from Bloomberg editor Jason Schreier, WB Games has decided to delay Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League once again. The game was initially delayed to spring 2023 a year ago, after which a new release date of May 26 to December was announced. The game has since been delayed to later in the year, though there is no word yet on exactly when that will happen.

Interestingly, the report claims that the backlash against the game and its service-based gaming elements has led to the publisher's current decision to delay it. As of now, the delay has not been officially announced by the publisher.

It seems that the developer's desire to make the game a service is something that players are completely complaining about, because this type of game always fails to live up to expectations of following the same path as Marvel's Avengers. Impressions pointed to the strangeness of the gameplay itself with the constant requirement of internet to run the game even in single-player mode. All of this, in fact, is enough to change the plans of both the studio and publisher WB.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is in development and is scheduled to release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
