Capcom has today confirmed that the PSVR2 version of Resident Evil 4 Remake is currently in development, while it has also been confirmed that it will be released as a free update for game owners.

It was announced by The official Resident Evil Twitter account The Japanese version, where the following was said in the tweet, published a few hours ago:

A VR mode for Resident Evil RE:4 has begun development. Stay tuned for more details. The VR mode for Resident Evil RE:4 will be available as a free add-on for PlayStation 5/PlayStation VR2.”

The announcement that work on the new game mode has begun could be an indication that the developer has not taken previous work into account, especially with work on the base game having begun several years ago.

It is worth mentioning that the game Resident Evil Village has already gained a virtual reality game mode today, in conjunction with the launch of the new PlayStation PSVR2 glasses.

Anyone who owns the regular or gold version will receive the new update today for free without having to pay any additional amount.

The announcement of the existence of VR mode for Remake Part IV today means that we may have to wait a little longer to get it. Either way, it will be a good opportunity to give players the chance to experience the adventure in normal mode when the remake launches on March 24.

What was not revealed in this new announcement is whether Resident Evil 4 Remake will fully or partially support story playthrough on PSVR2. Whereas, the Village portion, as confirmed, will fully support story stage playthrough in VR mode, while supporting the new Sense controller with all its distinctive features.
