Bethesda has confirmed that its upcoming game, Redfall, will require an always-on internet connection to play. This also includes the single-player phase, which most players will find very annoying, as most are asking for this feature to be disabled.

Through its website, Bethesda confirmed, answering some common questions among players, that the game Redfall will require a permanent internet connection during all stages of the game. In addition, players will also be forced to use or create an account on Bethesda.Net to play Redfall.

Many modern games include this DRM feature, which is a one-time online connection to prevent piracy. However, persistent online requirements remain relatively uncommon for modern single-player games. Even in titles that focus primarily on co-op but have single-player elements.

Modern multiplayer titles like Gotham Knights allow offline play in single player mode. Meanwhile, It Takes Two, for example, which can only be played with two players, allows offline play.

We don't know why this feature was necessarily added to the game, but we did mention that it will be released on May 2nd. It will be available for Xbox Series X and PC.
