Designing and developing digital video games in Jordan achieves international success

The Arab region is still struggling to make its mark in the video game industry, which has become one of the most lucrative and widespread economic areas in recent years, and with Saudi Arabia as a pioneer in this area in the region, Jordan is also striving with its human talents to keep up with Arab movements.
In Jordan, the race is fierce in digital game design, as a group of young Jordanians have managed to develop and design nearly 16 games on the global gaming platform as part of the Global Challenge competition organized by the Kingdom. At the Jordanian Games Lab, the creative umbrella for digital game design enthusiasts, a leap forward has been made here for students from schools and universities seeking the latest game design technologies. Some of them have managed to open their own design companies, while others have managed to design 16 games on the global gaming platform within the international forum competitions, where one of the developers told Jordanian Games Lab beneficiaries:

The volume of Arab digital production does not exceed, at best, one percent of the world's games production, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq and Qatar, respectively, lead as the countries that invest the most in the area of games, with a volume of more than 5 billion dollars annually, on this subject said Iyad al-Bashir Operations Manager for a digital platform:
Investment is very important for companies to stay afloat, and making games is a very expensive process, as is making a game that will require very long phases and depending on the complexity related to it, it can take one or two years to make a successful game.
However, the most prominent challenges for digital video game designers in Jordan and the Arab world, according to experts, is the absence of university curricula that support the year's designers and the fragility of electronic payment operations on gaming platforms, while digital games in the world recorded revenues of around US$1.4 billion, according to international statistics.
