Xbox President Phil Spencer spoke about Xbox Game Pass and how consumer habits regarding the subscription service won't have much of an impact on how Xbox sells its games.

Speaking to The Verge in an interview this month, Phil Spencer stated that Xbox will not stop selling all Xbox Game Pass games.

Spencer explained in his statement that the subscription service is an “interesting” model for some games and helps diversify players’ gaming choices. Players who buy and own games are still a key part of the company’s business and profits. Spencer then mentioned that giving players choice and agency in how they play and what they play is important to Xbox.

We don't have this vision of everyone paying us $ 15 a month, we think subscription is an interesting model for certain types of games and for certain customers. I really see it creating diversity in how people build their game library or how developers reach the customers they want to reach with the content they create.

Selling games will always be a part of our business, in my opinion. I believe that people buying and owning their games will be an important part of our business for years to come.

Sony recently revealed in a statement against Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard that the new PlayStation Plus subscriptions, PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Deluxe, fall behind Xbox Game Pass.

These numbers shared by Sony .. do not match the previous reports shared by Microsoft which are superior to them in terms of numbers as I previously talked about the arrival of the number of subscribers to the service reached 25 million subscribers.

Phil Spencer, head of Xbox at Microsoft, has expressed admiration for the performance of the Xbox Game Pass service on the PC platform. While he said that its growth has been offset by a slowdown on home platforms, President Phil Spencer has maintained that the service is profitable. During the latest earnings report, it was revealed during WSJ Live that about 15% of Microsoft's gaming revenue comes from Xbox Game Pass.
