Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox branch at Microsoft, expressed his admiration for the performance of the Xbox Game Pass service on the PC platform. While he stated that its growth is offset by a slowdown on home platforms.

We really don't need to introduce Xbox Game Pass, or even add some great content over the years. The service does what no other service does. In terms of making great titles available from day one, and letting players try them out for a very nominal amount of money.

Wsjtechlive had the opportunity to meet with Phil Spencer to talk about the said service and its performance. Spencer had the following to say about it:

We've noticed a slowdown in the service's growth, and the reason is that it has reached all the players available to subscribe to it.

In fact, the service has achieved very impressive success on PC platforms. It has witnessed a 159 percent growth in subscribers in just one year. Furthermore, the number of people who have used the streaming services has reached almost 20 million gamers.

It seems that the PC platform is not only attractive to gamers. Currently, Sony, on the other hand, is putting the platform in its sights, as it has released dozens of exclusives during the current year and the previous year.

The plan was always to bring PC gamers to the platforms, but the statistics say otherwise. The number of players on this platform has become so large that the Steam platform has broken its record and registered another one, the largest in number of simultaneous players. You can follow more details about this record here.

In previous news, Game Pass saved Microsoft revenue by achieving very high percentages of profits, reaching US$ 2.9 billion.

On the other hand, it seems that Microsoft intends to increase the prices of its devices and subscription services in the future, as Spencer hinted in another news story that you can follow the details here.
