It wasn't a huge surprise, but it pleased many when beloved developer Kojima revealed Death Stranding 2, the second installment of his mysterious game.

Kojima revealed the game through a livestream video on the PlayStation 5, as the game was published by Sony and will be exclusive to its current platform. However, the game's first reveal video didn't provide a release date or even a year.

Perhaps the aspirations were for the game to be released in the next year 2023, but according to the latest leaks, it seems that the game will not see the light before 2024.

frank freedomone of the top designers at PlayStation Visual Arts, and through his own account on the ArtStation platform, it seemed that the game's release date would be sometime in 2024. We don't know how a developer or designer outside of Kojima Productions is aware of Death Stranding 2's release date, but keep in mind that Kojima receives full support from Sony and PlayStation Studios, so there may be internal promotion of the proposed release date.

Meanwhile, after the game's official reveal, Kojima and his team will begin ramping up promotion for the game, with the first step being to make the first installment, Death Stranding, available for free download via the Epic Store for 24 hours. It appears Kojima wants to expand the circle of players who can learn about the game and get excited about the next installment.
