Overwatch 2 is one of the most successful esports games since its creation and is free to play on all platforms. The game has won over millions of players, and here we are, we have reached the third season of the game with many additions that I noticed as soon as I entered the game, so we are going to share with you our impressions of the third season.
Season 3 officially launched on Tuesday, February 7th, as you know. The season brings with it a new map. A new season means new cosmetic items. I noticed that most of the skins in Season 3 were inspired by Chinese, Japanese, and Korean mythology under the title Amaterasu Mythic skin and the most prominent of them was Kiriko whose new outfit was highlighted since I entered the game interface and the outfit is available in the battle pass.
When mentioning the battle card, we note the availability of forms with special features for heroes including Moira, Reaper and Junkrat, and these forms or costumes can be opened only by playing the game and leveling up. This, of course, after purchasing the battle pass, if you don't have money from the last season, with the availability of forms for heroes like Zenyatta and Genji in the in-game store.
As I played through the new season, I felt more balance among the heroes, especially when I played the character of Pharaoh, who is considered one of the hardest characters to defeat. The game has improved the capabilities of some heroes in the Damage category and they have become more balanced, but from my point of view, what I aspire to is to make a hero like Genji more balanced because he is still a bit strong, especially in his ULT ability.
Aside from the balance and stuff, we get into the most important addition of the new season, which is the new map “Antarctica” that was released right after Season 3 of Overwatch 2. As I fight on the new map and with this winter I was feeling cold, but mostly because the whole map is full of snow and the snow and the extreme weather where I and the people on the team put me in a new and unique environment in Overwatch.
There are some alleys on the map that require cunning when escaping a battle. The most popular way to do this map is to control the terrain in the middle. It was quite chaotic, but I really enjoyed it. The most important thing, dear reader, is to be careful because the map is open and it is possible to fall from a strong blow on the edges of the map or something like that.
We come to one of the most notable additions you’ve seen in the new season, which is the Workshop. For all the old-timers out there, this isn’t new, but it’s back. It’s a popular tool in Overwatch 1, allowing players to create their own mods and share them with other players via Workshop codes. It’s a great attempt to keep friends and the game’s community together in general.
As for what's coming in the new season, there are new events coming throughout Overwatch Season 2. It features a One-Punch Man collaboration, a special Valentine's Day event, and more. The ranked system has been made significantly easier than before, and the ranked mode interface has been improved to make it easier to track player progress and information.
Improvements have been made to the quality of the game, especially in terms of translation options such as resizable text, character icons and text color to accommodate all color vision disorders with great flexibility and more additions are waiting for you. I see that there is wonderful development in the game from one season to the next and trying to please the community is something that puts the game in a sweet spot. If you haven't played Overwatch 2 yet, you can download it right now, completely free, on your home console or PC.
