Activision Blizzard has just revealed to all its investors during its quarterly report that Overwatch 2 brought almost 35 million players to the game in just the first month of its release, but when we compare it to its predecessor, we can say that during the same period in 2016, the first installment brought more than 15 million players.

In its third-quarter earnings report, Activision Blizzard stated that those 35 million players were a mix of returning and new players. The publisher should be able to differentiate between the two groups, as well as consider players with multiple accounts, but that wasn't shared during the report.

Activision Blizzard also mentioned in the report that “player investment is also off to a strong start,” meaning that Overwatch 2 players are clearly involved in monetization and could bring in more players in a short period of time.

The investor also notes that the game is on track to continue seasonal content updates, adding new heroes, maps, and game modes. Paula Can Forget About the highly anticipated PvE mode slated for release in 2023. Champion Rammatra was revealed in Season 2, though no new maps were revealed. However, the developers of Overwatch 2 have shown consistency in updates in the first month after launch.

The game is available for free worldwide across devices for all players on Windows PC, via Battle.net, and on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
