Meta has announced that it will no longer support the original Meta Quest virtual reality headset. Where the company announced the end of support for its virtual reality headset through an email sent to owners of the original Meta Quest headset.

What does the end of support for VR headsets mean? Meta claims that the company is stopping development of new features for the legacy headset. However, that doesn't mean it's completely out of support, as security support for the headset will continue until 2024. However, we haven't been able to get a specific date for when support will end completely.

It’s also worth noting that the end of support means that owners of the original Meta Quest won’t be able to take advantage of all of Spectacles’ features. They’ll still be able to play VR games they already own with friends and use other apps. These social services are set to end on March 5.

While the original Meta Quest is nearing the end of its lifespan, support for the second version is still very strong, although the company has faced some setbacks with financial losses, which has led to an increase in the price of the headset in the latter. With all that said, it is very likely that we will see support for the Meta Quest 2 also start to age out in 2024, especially when the Meta Quest 3 headset is released.

Do you think the end of support step is not good enough now and will determine the users of the company's glasses, or is it a must?
