A few days separate us from the release date of the game Resident Evil 4 Remake, as we recently received a set of offers that showed us that there are many additions in the remake compared to the original version, as well as the availability of a lot of new information.

Resident Evil 4 Remake isn't just an improved version, and Capcom's development process is completely different from previous remakes. The development teams have added numerous gameplay features, improvements, and tweaks, all of which stem from player feedback and questions.

Eight new changes in Resident Evil 4 Remake:

  1. Avoid and block blows.
  2. New finishing moves.
  3. side quests.
  4. New mod features.
  5. Ashley won't get in the way, she'll help.
  6. New weapons.
  7. Kill stealthily.
  8. The way to fight bosses is different from the original version.

In this report, we will discuss with you these eight exciting details that will be present in the remake and were not present in the original version and will greatly affect the gameplay.

1- The possibility of concealment

The developers confirmed in an exclusive interview that Leon will be able to use stealth to defeat some enemies. Leon can now crouch, and if you're careful enough, you can finish off enemies by silently stabbing them from behind with a knife.

One of the enemies you'll be able to use stealth and stealth to eliminate is the monster "Garador," which can't see but relies on sound to track and attack its opponent. Garador has become more ferocious and violent in Resident Evil 4 Remake, so you'll need to be careful when facing it.

2- Avoid and repel scams

In an interview with the development team by IGN, they stated that when developing the game, they didn't want to change anything about its mechanics. So, they thought adding things to improve the gameplay experience rather than removing them was the best option, one of which was Leon's ability to dodge and block attacks.

Now Leon can avoid attacks based on the player's reaction, which must be quick, and you'll also need to know the enemy's attack type and movements. You'll have another option if you can't dodge the attack: blocking the attack as a last-ditch effort before receiving it. This addition will certainly help, and it's a good move by the team and also a major player demand in the past.

3- New finishing moves

The game has received numerous teasers in the past, including Leon being able to perform new finishing moves against enemies. Previously, the player would perform a finishing move on an enemy in one instance, aiming for the enemy's face to knock them off balance and then kicking them, which wasn't fatal. Alternatively, aiming for the enemy's legs and then approaching them to perform the Suplex move, which sometimes finished the opponent off.

In the remix, it's a bit different and more impressive than before. Leon will be able to perform all of the above, plus all the new finishing moves. For example, by knocking any enemy to the ground, you can approach them before they get up and deliver a fatal knife blow, stabbing them in the head, and many other moves designed for direct confrontation with enemies.

4- Rehabilitation of “Ashley”

After finding her, Ashley follows Lyon throughout the game and it's up to the player to keep her safe from enemies while trying to escape the village.

Ashley now has new abilities in Resident Evil 4 Remake, such as the ability to unlock doors. Leon will be able to direct her to stay close to him or back off a bit while he takes care of some enemies.

Also, one of the little things Ashley achieved as a sort of realism is wearing a winter jacket, since the events of the game take place in the winter season and it is unrealistic to wear light clothes in such an environment, so a woolen jacket was added.

5- There are side missions scattered around

The game's developers have confirmed on more than one occasion that side quests will be available in the remake for the first time, as they weren't present in the original version. In fact, as you can see in the image above, players of previous game demos have seen what these quests look like. They come in the form of a blue piece of paper and a simple puzzle for the player to solve, and this may be just one of the side quests that will be present in the upcoming remake.

We can also say about this addition that it is a surprise for Capcom players, since the game has not been in development for so long just to improve its graphics, but there are many, many things added.

6- New mod features

Leon's best friend is the bag that holds all his gear. Not only has the gear bag been brought back in the remake, but now players can customize it with different colors and add special touches to personalize the bag.

In the preview video we recently obtained, Leon can add a small chicken medallion to the corner of his bag. Still, organizing his gear in the bag with the mesh system is extremely satisfying.

7- A new weapon

Some may have figured it out, especially veterans who played the original game. Resident Evil 4 Remake will feature at least one new weapon: the Bolt Thrower. Its ammunition consists of explosive mines that can not only annihilate powerful enemies from afar but can also be fired silently, making it a stealth weapon—at least until the explosion attracts attention.

8- Jack Krauser's fight is different

The new video concludes with a quick look at Lyon's fight with the team's ex-girlfriend, Jack Krauser. While the battle was originally QTE-heavy in the original game, its combat is now more interactive with the abandonment of QTE moves.

In this battle, Leon will be able to use his own knife to block Krauser's blows and then launch quick counterattacks.
