Tonight we were in the thick of Take-Two's second-quarter earnings call for the current financial year, which no doubt touched a bit on GTA 6, or the next installment in the series as the developer calls it.
Of course, the information was not related to the game's release date or events, but it was related to recent leaks that the publisher described as unfortunate (via Twitter) But that hasn't affected the game's release date or development plan, which is still in the works. In tonight's comments, CEO Strauss Zelnick said:
The Grand Theft Auto 6 leak was “extremely unfortunate” but will not have any impact on the game’s development cycle or release time.
This statement may be the first time Take-Two has spoken about a release date, which, although it is not yet known, seems to have already been included in the company's internal plan. It may be revealed one day through the leaks we continually receive from some well-informed sources, but having a specific date is a good thing in itself.
Take-Two CEO also confirmed, Strauss Zelnickthat despite the great content that has leaked recently, there is no evidence that any actual assets have been stolen from the upcoming game.
In other words, there is no evidence that GTA 6 source code has been leaked. This is also evident from the fact that Rockstar has not changed the development plan or the predetermined release date. Since the source code leak means that the project ended in its early stages, and that did not happen.
Reassuring information for the Rockstar gaming community who are eager for more details about the GTA 6 game, but it seems that we will have to wait a while longer to get more details about it, and this year may pass without any news about the game.
It is reported that the gaming community was placing a lot of expectations and hopes for the game to be revealed, even initially, before Take-Two's earnings call was held, but that did not happen. But there are still hopes that the game will be revealed at any time, especially with Rockstar continuing to manipulate the public through hints that appear in the current GTA Online game.
Rockstar recently announced the need for a digital marketing manager to join its digital marketing team as it appears to be gearing up to launch a marketing campaign for a product.
