After an agonizing wait, we now know when The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be released. Developer Daedalic has revealed that its new project will be available on May 25 on PC, as well as on PlayStation and Xbox platforms. The Switch version is scheduled to launch later in the year.

We'll see players enjoying playing with Gollum's new perspective soon.. The game is inspired by the works of JRR Tolkien. The title is being worked on by developer Daedalic Entertainment and publisher Nacon, both of whom are committed to delivering a game that honors JRR Tolkien's vision.

Instead of playing as Aragorn or Gandalf, you’ll play as Gollum. Developer Daedalic Entertainment has taken on the challenge of portraying Gollum as the protagonist of their game. There’s a greater focus on stealth, and the combat system is mostly stealth rather than melee, especially since he’s not the most powerful of enemies. However, some decisions will have you following the merciful path of Smeagol or the brutal path of Gollum.

Not every option is the “right” one, so be careful. Familiar characters like Gandalf the Grey and Shelob make appearances, and you’ll meet series mainstays like the Candle Man, a spy expert who resides in Mt. Doom. There’s still a lot to see with The Lord of the Rings: Gollum at this point. But with the game’s upcoming release, it looks like there’ll be more to come soon.
