It appears that Elden Ring developer From Software is currently working on a plan that will make it self-sufficient in game publishing. Recent financial reports have proven this, as the aforementioned game achieved record sales figures.
Elden Ring, which was released earlier this year, has arguably become the highest-rated game of the year. It received a rating of 96 out of 100, based on numerous reviews from international review sites. Meanwhile, its developer studio, From Software, is now researching a mechanism for its transformation to self-publish its next games.
I also attached one of the sources via TwitterThe studio's latest financial reports revealed a record increase in sales for the game Elden Ring. The studio has also begun developing strategic plans for the development of its next game, including a transition into game publishing. This means the studio will no longer be forced to share its profits with any other publisher, such as Bandai Namco.
On the other hand, for the studio to publish the games, it will have to take greater risks and make more plans during the development process. Add to this, of course, the high costs of development, printing, and manufacturing, among other things, but reaching such a risky decision certainly took intense and careful thought from the team.
For those unfamiliar, the studio specializes in delivering challenging and popular games, including the Dark Souls series. Other titles include Sekiro, Shadow Die Twice, and others.
The studio hasn't revealed its next project yet, but rumors are that one is in the early stages of development. Do you think the studio will succeed in publishing games?
