Hideo Kojima recently revealed during his latest podcast that Death Stranding 2 would have had a different scenario if actress Elle Fanning had turned down a role in the game. This makes us see how important the actress is to the developer that the game's story revolves around this time around.

Metal Gear Solid creator Kojima has revealed that Fanning will play a major role in the upcoming sequel Death Stranding 2, saying he wants to use Elle's "talents and charm to create a character unlike any other."

The developer has completely avoided sharing anything related to the game through its statements, so it was very careful to say the following:

I can't really share too much, but Elle is a very, very important character. And yes, I created the character with Elle in mind. So I was worried that she would turn down the offer.

As previously reported, Fanning was on the podcast and mentioned how the game actually looks amazing at the moment. She also said that the motion capture technology in the game has moved to another level compared to the first game. She also referred to the team working with her and thanked them for their efforts.

Hideo Kojima has always been a fan of Fanning's work, but Fanning had no prior experience with video games. However, communication was opened between Kojima and Fanning through the TV director. Nicholas Winding Refn.

Death Stranding 2 is currently in development for the PS5 and a release date has not yet been set. As it was revealed by surprise at the last The Game Awards event. And before that, Kojima also hinted at it several times, as is known.
