Sony is preparing to launch the next generation of PSVR2 virtual reality headsets in the coming days, which have already been in the hands of critics for several days. We know these headsets are equipped to connect to the PS5 device to fully function, but what if we connect them to a PC? What will the result be?

Well, some people have already tried linking the new PlayStation headset to their personal account, and the result, of course, isn't what some expect. No, it won't work as a VR headset, but it will be recognized as an additional screen, nothing more.

When connecting the PSVR2 glasses to the PC, it will not require profiles, but will use it as an additional screen that displays in 1080p resolution, where the user can use it and watch the flat screen and navigate completely on their computer.

The Verge ran an experiment and examined the type of signal that is sent via the USB-C cable to the glasses, which turned out to be unencrypted, but cannot be used as virtual reality and is instead recognized as an additional monitor screen, nothing more.

The new Sense controller was also linked to the PC and was able to recognize it without the need for a profile, while it can be used as a basic controller, nothing more.

In any case, next Wednesday, the PSVR2 headset will be delivered to those who pre-order, and they will also be available in international retailers for 2,500 Saudi riyals. And if you want to learn more about the headset, you can check out our full review here.
