Don't Nod Studio, developer of Life is Strange and Vampyr, has revealed one of its upcoming projects, Project 12. The team is working on several projects over the next few years, most of which are new titles, “New IP”.

Don't Nod Studio has been absent from the game release scene in recent times, but it has revealed that it is working on developing a new large-scale RPG game known internally as Project 12. It appears that the aforementioned game is still in the early stages of development, as the developer has revealed that it won't be released until the year 2025.

Few other details about Project 12 have been revealed as well. First, it will be a large-scale game that will allow players to delve into more immersive stories. Project 12 was mentioned separately in the 2018 game Vampyr, so it is not believed that the new title will be a sequel to that game, nor will it be a joint project with another development team.

The good news is that Don't Nod has increased the amount of production budget available for RPG development thanks to a $ 35 million investment from Chinese company Tencent. This will allow the team to step up its efforts in terms of production value.

Project 12 is one of eight games still in development at the studio. Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden and Harmony: The Fall of Reverie are set to launch in 2023. Between this year and 2025, the company also plans to release four games, in addition to the two it is co-producing with Tiny Bull Studios and Studio Tolima. This Project 12 release is planned “for post-2025.”

Do you think the studio could succeed in developing an open-world RPG of this size?
