Bethesda is still preparing to show more gameplay for its title Starfield in June with a standalone livestream. The title has now received its first age rating, which places the game in its proper place, courtesy of the Australian Classification Board. It received an R18+ rating due to the presence of high-impact drug use.
With this material in Starfield, obscene language didn't figure prominently in the ratings, nor did nudity, as it was virtually nonexistent. Along with drug use, violence was the second most significant aspect of the rating, earning a high score from the local ratings committee.
Given the amount of violence found in Fallout 3 and 4 and The Elder Scrolls series, this is completely understandable. But how this plays out in Starfield remains to be seen, and we'll see it at launch.
Starfield launches on September 6th for Xbox Series X/S and PC. It's also available to play from day one on Game Pass.
Before that, we'll have a Starfield Direct broadcast scheduled for June 11th, which will provide an in-depth look at the game, as director Todd Howard said there's still a lot the studio has to show us. According to him, the game contains many special features that can't be missed.
Tell me your expectations for next year's biggest titles, and do you think they will live up to the hype and expectations?
