Developer Respawn Entertainment is currently fully focused on the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but the developer also has two other projects in the same series in development. Last year, it was confirmed that the studio was also working on a Star Wars first-person shooter.
According to a new job listing, Respawn's next Star Wars game will be inspired by two of the franchise's classic titles, 1995's Dark Forces and its 1997 sequel.
Interestingly, the job listing also mentions that the game will be developed in Unreal Engine 5 and, most importantly, will be a single-player experience. Some rumors have indicated that there will be an online mode only as a secondary mode, with a strong focus on the single-player campaign.
Frankly, we don't know how the developer's current project will resemble the Dark Force series. The original Dark Force was a shooter based on the DOOM series with plenty of weapons, items, and some power-ups for players to use.
Of course, the game appears to be in the early stages of development right now, and we won't have any details on it anytime soon. But we have something to look forward to in the series soon. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is scheduled to release on April 28 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
