Shortly after the release of survival horror game The Callisto Protocol, developer Striking Distance Studio revealed that it noticed PC players were experiencing frame rate issues.

The studio announced on its official Twitter page that an update is scheduled to be released later today that will improve the performance of The Callisto Protocol on PC. The studio also stated that several additional updates are in the works.

The Callisto Protocol is facing a slew of negative reviews on Steam hours after its release due to performance. Most of the negative reviews talk about the game's performance issues, with some also highlighting slowdowns and tearing caused by issues with Unreal Engine 4.

For all the issues the PC platform faces, the PlayStation 5 version remains the best to date, whether in terms of display accuracy, effects, visual technologies or performance. Add to that interactive features like support for 3D sound and sensory and haptic effects on the console, which have been used in a wonderful and influential way throughout the gaming experience, and we can only hope that the rest of the platforms will become like the PS5 in their stability.

Striking Distance Studio also has plenty of post-launch content planned, with a free update in February bringing New Game+ and Hardcore Mode to the game. The title also includes a season pass that introduces additional content over the next year.
