In late 2021, the cooperative survival horror game Back 4 Blood was released on all major platforms, and while it was praised by many critics, player reviews clearly showed that it failed to impress many fans of classic zombie and shooter games.

Back 4 Blood developer Turtle Rock has supported it with several expansions and additional content. The game's last major expansion, Children of the Worm, was released last summer with a new campaign, story, characters, and more. While the River of Blood add-on was released before it with a new story, as well as new weapons, accessories, and maps, with a five-map mission. It also added Tunnels of Terror.

But it seems that the end of the game has come for the developer, as the development studio Turtle Rock has announced that it will end the development and support of the game with additional content due to the insufficient resources it has, as the developer wants to fully focus and allocate all its capabilities on the next title that it is developing and has not yet been announced. about yet.

In this context, the game developer shared with us a message that was posted on his official website online, where he wrote:

Turtle Rock Studios is actually quite small for a studio that makes AAA games.

We don't have enough people to continue working on Back 4 Blood content while we develop another game – yes, another game!

With that in mind, it’s time to put our heads down, get back in the lab, and start working on the next big thing.

It is worth noting that the Turtle Rock studio, which previously developed the game Left 4 Dead, managed to break off its partnership with Valve in 2011, after which it began working on the cooperative game Evolve, which unfortunately did not have the same success and fame as the first game, and during the past year, the Chinese company Tencent announced that it has officially acquired Turtle Rock Studios.
