Last year, CD Project Red released The Witcher 3 on new-gen consoles after a long wait. The game received many graphical improvements, like the rest of the titles that move from the old generation to the new one. But it also received more inappropriate content that later turned into complaints from players.
The Witcher 3 mods for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S have been used by players. This topic was taken up by the development team to support and thank the community. Among the modifications used in the game and approved were more inappropriate content in which there are more nude scenes than the last-gen version.
Full nudity is nothing new to the game, as mentioned. However, this is the first time non-motherly women have been shown fully and excessively nude in the Next-Gen version. CD Projekt RED provided a statement posted to Kotaku, stating that this will tone things down a bit. The studio's statement reads as follows:
The next-gen version of The Witcher 3 features several community-sourced mods that were not created by CD PROJEKT RED, as well as many improvements created and implemented by the studio in-house.
The team went on to say that putting everything together was a complex process and the designs in question were an unintended consequence present in the release version. This is something they will work to address.
We hope that the studio will soon release an update for the game on current devices that will help remove the excessive nudity content. On the other hand, the game is basically known for its content, but there is a limit to everything, even when it comes to inappropriate combos in matches.
