ZeniMax Online studio has built a large and dedicated fanbase through its strong support and development of The Elder Scrolls Online over the past few years, but the developer is also preparing to expand its horizons with another project.

It wasn't long ago that we learned that The Elder Scrolls Online developer has a new title in development, and recently some new details about the process itself have also emerged. Ben Jones, creative director at ZeniMax Online studio, recently revealed on his Product Builders podcast that the aforementioned new title has been in development for as long as four and a half years. During that time, the game has also undergone a number of behind-the-scenes changes, many of which have to do with its story.

The studio has over 200 people working on the project, and the team also includes many different races from around the world, as the design team, led by Jones, includes nearly 50 people. In some ways, Jones says, it’s a “very large project” in which the studio has a “huge investment.”

Elder Scrolls Online developer ZeniMax Online is, of course, one of several developers owned by Bethesda's parent company ZeniMax to join Microsoft's impressive stable of studios.

How long will it be until this new title is revealed? Given how long development has taken, we hope it won't be too long before we start hearing more concrete details about it.
