In the past period, there have been numerous acquisitions of hard-working development teams to support their game library. Among these teams is Bloober Team, which is rumored to have been acquired by major publishers. But it appears the Polish studio wants to maintain its independence.

declared Peter Papino Bloober Team's CEO told IGN that the team intends to resist acquisition talks and remain independent. He also emphasized that the studio wants to preserve its creative independence, something that any company could usurp if the studio were acquired.

Previously, there were also numerous rumors about the team's possible acquisition by Sony. This was before the team announced its work on several projects for the Silent Hill series, including remakes and new installments.

It is reported that in October 2021, Chinese company Tencent acquired a 22% stake in Bloober Team for approximately $ 19.5 million. This was done through its subsidiary Serene Century Limited, becoming its largest shareholder, but without compromising the studio's independence.

Knowing the studios' opinions on rejecting the acquisition principle is positive for players and better for the industry as a whole. Prior to this team, IO Interactive, developer of the Hitman series, also stated that it rejects this principle and prefers to remain independent. In fact, it has also become a publisher of its own titles, rather than cooperating with other rare companies.
