Rockstar's open-world adventure game, Red Dead Redemption 2, was released four years ago today. We were in a meeting to set a new standard for open-world narrative games and a new character, dictated to us by Rockstar, as usual with its game characters who have a story that embodies their lives and a present full of situations, leaving behind a past we cannot forget.

"Arthur Morgan," the character who was criticized by many at first when he appeared out of nowhere with no details about his true nature or where he came from, was everyone eager for anything that could be connected to the character from the first part, whom many had embraced, John Marston. But at the time, they didn't know that their hearts would be tied to this new character, and perhaps a few tears would be shed at the end.

The latest game Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place before the events of the first part, which was released in 2010, but everyone was surprised that we were faced with a completely new character that we never heard of in the first part, even in the context of conversations between urban residents, or even in books and publications, or from the lips of John and his son Jack that the tenth man and he had a great influence on them.

Red Dead Redemption 2 was the complete game for many of us, as it provided a fun and exciting gaming experience with a variety of weapons, means of transportation, missions and challenges that were distributed in an open world full of details, characters and elements that interact with you with high-quality artificial intelligence.

Not to mention that all NPCs had a backstory that connects them to the game world, and this makes getting attached to the game's characters so intuitive that many players remember each character, the dialogues that were happening while they were there, and even their locations.

Red Dead Redemption 2 also featured a deep story, meticulously woven and woven with poignant narrative events that make you relate to its characters and follow their paths until the end, and when you reach the end, you will realize how impressive this short virtual experience was, especially if some tears were shed in the final scenes.

The game was released on the latest generation PlayStation 4 and Xbox One devices on October 26, 2018, and achieved great sales as it surpassed 44 million copies.

Although the game provided this level of story, Rockstar did not pay attention to it and focused on expanding the online content at first, but in the end it seems that it abandoned the game completely and shifted its focus to the online phase of the GTA5 game, which brings great returns to this day.

Through a new message that appeared in the game, Rockstar thanked everyone who contributed to its success, whether developers or players, anticipating that by announcing that it would not provide any additional large content to the game, and that everything would focus on maintaining the gaming environment suitable for everyone through small updates that will be issued from time to time to fine-tune the game and maintain balance.

Meanwhile, all eyes are turning to Rockstar's next project, GTA 6, which was officially confirmed earlier this year. While the company is still mum on the future of Red Dead Redemption and whether or not we'll get a third installment, we won't forget the statements. Dan Houser One of Rockstar's founders said they'll include Red Dead Redemption 3 in their plan if the second part performs well, and they'll have other things related to the third part if it's approved. Will that happen?!

Despite all this, Red Dead Redemption 2 remains one of the best experiences we've ever had, and we always hope that the developers don't abandon the expansion of this wonderful world and provide more interesting and exciting experiences as they always promised.
