The first impressions of God of War Ragnarok came out yesterday, as we got some early results indicating that the game is really solid and worth the wait. But it seems that some of the changes the team made were with the exception of the word “Boy”.

Any player who played the game that was released in 2018 will know exactly what the truth is about the word “Boy”, as Kratos used to call Atreus that word. !”. It seems that the Santa Monica development team has made an exception for this word in the upcoming game God of War Ragnarok. This means only one thing: Atreus is no longer young.

Impressions of the game confirmed that the word was deleted, and Kratos now calls his son by his given name. Game director Eric Williams told GamesRadar:

Kratos calls his son by name now, because we wanted to communicate true feelings. As parents or children, or both, we like to be asked by name, not by the term “boy.”

Eric also made it clear that the nature of the relationship between the two characters would now be different, so that Atreus would be treated as a mature and dependent person. He continued, regarding this:

In the previous part, we always saw Atreus following orders and being told what to do, and when he asked questions, no one gave him an answer. In the next part, Atreus is different, he learns from the past and matures, which will surprise his father, Kratos.

The game will be released on the 9th of next month for PlayStation 4 and 5 devices. We mentioned that our initial impression of the game is available and you can watch it here, and that our review will be available on the third day of next month.

We also noticed that the impressions from other global sites were perfect. One reviewer even said that the first hour of the game is better than many full games in terms of suspense, excitement and epic battles.

We hope the conclusion is as expected for a series that has been and will continue to be among the best in the industry, but what are your expectations for the game so far?
