Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now available on home devices and PC, but it appears the developer has quickly removed one of the Ping System features from the game just hours after its release.
Due to an unknown bug, developers Infinity Ward have released a quick update for the game that disables the player's Ping system during the kill cam. This is because, due to a technical error, the system works even after the kill cam has ended and continues to track the player's killer throughout the match.
In other words, the dead player can locate the killer player through the killer camera via the Ping System and then continue to locate him after returning to the Respawn game so that it is easy for him to locate and take revenge easily. This continues throughout the game until the end of the match as you can see in the video below.
He won't die here, as this weird bug allows the dead player to spot the other player through walls and see their path across the map at all times.
Huge Bug: You can ping an enemy during the death screen and the ping lasts the entire game, essentially giving you wallhacks on that player for the rest of the game. from ModernWarfare II
It all started after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 opened up to everyone last Friday, as videos of this bug started circulating on social media platforms and video game forums, prompting the developers to quickly step in and disable the Ping system's location feature to fix this annoying issue.
While the ping system is important to some online gamers, we don't know when the issue will be fixed and re-enabled.
Modern Warfare 2 is available on current- and last-gen home consoles and PC, and while we're testing out the online and other game modes, you can check out our story breakdown here.
