Modern Warfare 2 Online will be free for everyone this week.

Activision has announced its plan to offer online play in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for free for a temporary period this week across all platforms.

The free version will start being made available from next Thursday, March 16th at 9pm Mecca time. While the offer lasts for 5 consecutive days.

This means that players who play the free version of the game will be able to get the content from the second season, which will be called Reloaded, which will be available to download starting tomorrow, Wednesday, March 15.

The beta will provide players with access to a select number of game modes and maps in online multiplayer, including the new Himmelmatt Expo map, as well as some cooperative Special Ops content.

6v6 competitive play maps Farm 18, Mercado Las Almas, Shipment, and Dome will be available.

As for the game modes that will be available through the free version, they are Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Domination, Kill Confirmed, Gun Game, Infected, One in the Chamber and All or Nothing.

Ground War and Invasion modes will also be available to play on the vast Santa Seña map.

The first Raid, called Atomgrad, will also be playable on Standard difficulty during the free trial. The raids are part of the game’s Special Ops mode and are three-player co-op challenges that combine stealth, combat, and puzzle-solving objectives. The game’s second raid will arrive in this week’s Reloaded update.

Activision recently revealed the first details about the third season of Modern Warfare 2, as well as Warzone 2. Season 3 will include the return of the famous Gunfight multiplayer mode, which will also receive new maps each season.

Warzone Ranks will also be introduced alongside the Plunder game mode, which features challenges for players to loot as much cash as possible.
