Microsoft: We can make Modern Warfare 2 run smoothly on the Switch

Microsoft has said it can run Modern Warfare 2 without any issues on a Nintendo Switch that doesn't have the technical specifications for this type of game. The company's statements come after the company's agreement with Nintendo to bring the game to the aforementioned device for a full 10 years was questioned.
Last month, Microsoft signed a binding 10-year legal agreement to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo's platforms. This includes full feature and content parity with Xbox, and that includes Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. This has led many to speculate how the company could implement these features on older Switch hardware that can't run such powerful games. Especially considering that no version of the series has been released on the Switch to date.
However, in a newly published response to the UK regulator's damages notice, Microsoft said it was confident it could run games like Modern Warfare 2 on the Switch platform.
Microsoft says that since Warzone supports PCs with GPUs released since 2015, there's no reason it can't be optimized and run on Nintendo hardware. It added:
“The development team at Activision has a long history of optimizing game performance for the available hardware resources. The game engine that powers Warzone is mature and has been optimized to run on a wide range of devices, from the Xbox One console released in 2015 to the Xbox Series X. It can even be modified to run on the Nintendo Switch released in 2017.”
The odd thing here is that the Xbox One launched in 2013, not 2015 as the company reported, but Microsoft cited Apex Legends, Doom Eternal, Fortnite, and Crysis 3 as similar titles that were successfully ported to the Switch using standard techniques.
The question here is: will the company actually produce a technically powerful game like the Call of Duty series for the Switch if the game becomes wholly owned by the company?
