The company said in its filings that Nintendo dominated over 50% of the gaming market and its sales in the said year. The Switch sold nearly 24 million units. While Sony Playstation 5 sales reached approximately 15 million in the same year.

The three companies' total device sales in 2021 reached 48 million units. This means that when we add up the sales of Sony and Nintendo and subtract them from the total, we find that Xbox sales in the same year already totaled approximately 9 million units.

With these statistics, Nintendo controlled half of the device sales in the market, and Donnie had 34% of the global market. And Microsoft had the remaining 16% of sales in 2021. This indicates, one way or another, that the company's market performance is still weaker than Sony's.
