According to the latest reports, Microsoft seems to regret abandoning Genshin Impact in favor of rival Sony. The former is said to be currently looking to develop a competitive game.
Genshin Impact comes from developer miHOYO and is an open-world RPG. The game was released for PlayStation 4, 5, and PC and was a satisfactory success across the board. It was nominated for Game of the Year for Most Continuous Game and won Mobile Game of the Year.
According to a report from Reuters, Microsoft and its Xbox subsidiary are looking for a replacement for the game they lost to Sony and PlayStation. Whereas a source from the aforementioned site indicated that Sony's acquisition of the game hurt the green team and continued:
Buying the game made Sony a lot of money.
Microsoft has apparently been interested in Chinese developers for some time. But it was jealous of seeing the game's success on a rival platform and is now actively pursuing a rival title.
The source also confirmed that the game will never be released on Xbox platforms, and this is not the first time Microsoft has lost a lucrative title. But the most prominent question is who is the real competitor of the game, which Microsoft might own!
On the other hand, Microsoft is patiently monitoring the results of the Activision acquisition. As some parties will report their final results over the next month, including the CMA organization, there is a high possibility that the transaction will enter a different stage of investigation.
Do you think Microsoft's recent actions with its Xbox gaming division are correct, especially the loss of a profitable title and the pursuit of a major acquisition?
