Today, Sony added three more new PS2 games to the PS Plus Premium games library. All three games have been enhanced to include features like uprendering, rewind options, save states, and platinum trophies.
New PS2 games join the PS Plus Premium games library
- Tomb Raider Legend: Developed by Crystal Dynamics, it serves as a relaunch of the popular adventure series. It was first released for the PS2, PC, Xbox, Xbox 360, PSP, GameCube, and Game Boy Advance in 2006. The game was also ported to the PS3 as part of the Tomb Raider Trilogy in 2011.
- Sly Cooper and the Raccoon Thieves: It arrived on the PS2 in 2002, as Sly and his friends Bentley the Turtle and Murray the Hippo set sail as they searched for the Fiendish Five to retrieve the pages of the Racoconus Thieves.
- Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Developed by Pandemic Studios, it was released in 2002 for PS2, GameCube and Xbox. The game is set in the era of the Star Wars trilogy and allows players to control several famous characters, including Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu.
All three games are now available to purchase via the PS Plus Premium games library. Of course, a subscription to the bundle is required to access a diverse library of wonderful classic titles, as well as major titles released on the PS5 and PS4 platforms.
Sony has recently been working on releasing more PS2 games on the PS5 platform through the PS Plus Premium service, which could raise a lot of questions about whether Sony has actually managed to implement a PS2 game emulator on the PS5's operating system, which has been rumored that the company was working on in the past!
Regardless, we expect Sony to bring more classic titles to its monthly service in the coming period. We note that the new titles joining the Games Plus catalog this month will be revealed soon as part of the second monthly update, including a number of classic PlayStation games.
