Elden Ring deservedly won the Game of the Year title at The Game Awards 2022, beating out many other powerful and competitive titles.
This marvelous title wasn't satisfied with its financial and technical achievements either, as the FromSoftware studio's game received a new award from the British cinematography magazine Empire, and Elden Ring topped the editors' list of the 20 best games. The rest of the list was as follows.
- old ring
- Immortality
- God of War: Ragnarok
- The Last of Us: Part I
- Marvel's Midnight Sun
- Pokémon Legends: Arceus
- Dispersed
- Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope
- Xenoblade Chronicles 3
- Forbidden Horizon West
- Tunica
- Total War: Warhammer III
- A Plague Tale: Requiem
- Kirby and the Forgotten Land
- The Callisto Protocol
- Nintendo Switch Sports
- sifu
- Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters
- Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion
- the quarry
The strange thing about this long list is the complete absence of The Last of Us Part 1, and Immortality beat the strongest competitor, God of War: Ragnarok, to second place, and Ragnarok to third.
