IO Interactive, the developer of the popular Hitman series, has several titles in development. One of these titles will be an RPG project, and none of its upcoming projects will be a continuation of Agent 47's adventure.

IO Interactive is now focused on the next James Bond game. It also adopted World of Assassination as an alternative title to its Hitman trilogy and added a new Hitman game mode called “Freelancer,” a special single-player mode with roguelike elements, strategic planning, and a customizable safe house.

The team recently told Eurogamer that fans can expect to experience more of what the series of titles has to offer before the studio finally begins work on a new main title. He said:

We have such a great platform where we can continue to experiment with what the formula can do and what people can expect from it. And then at some point, obviously, like any creative person, it would be great to go in and say, OK with everything we've learned, what would it be like if we had to remake a sandbox — what would it look like?

The development team means that they will be revamping the series again, as their first idea for it was presented in the form of a trilogy. As for the next installments of Agent 47, it seems that it will be a robot with a new idea and then it will be turned into a series.

The studio confirmed that Agent 47's adventures are not over yet, and there is already an idea for a game project, but it is still a long way from its release date.
