Before the first GTA 6 gameplay footage was released last September, a few leaks surfaced online, the source of which was anonymous at the time. However, it appears that the identity of the leaker has been revealed to Rockstar, which is still investigating the matter in cooperation with YouTube.

According to X platform activist ZachXBT, the name of the leaker, known by the pseudonym Skenkir, has been identified.

By communicating with someone on the YouTube platform, Skinkir was able to obtain an “access” link to access the video’s control panel. Through this link, he was able to obtain some details, including watching the presentation in advance and finding out about the release year hours before the official reveal.

The GTA 6 premiere leak began on December 4, a day before the show was officially broadcast. Initially, Skenkir shared a photo of the video's control panel on his own Telegram account and claimed that he now had the video in his possession.

A few minutes later, Skenkir shared an image from the end of the trailer showing the release date, initially set for 2025. An hour later, Skenkir posted the video on the platform.

Recently, YouTube leaks have drawn attention to the platform, and it seems that there were employees working at Google who were responsible for these leaks. What sparked these assumptions was Nintendo, whose announcements that were prepared on the platform before the start of its presentation were leaked.

Extensive investigations have been launched within Google, which appears to have identified some of its employees responsible for these leaks. But we don't know if the leaker of the first GTA 6 demo is among these identified employees or not.
