The Nintendo Switch platform still stands out so far for its sales and strong performance in global markets, and it's clear that this won't last long as the device approaches its seventh year, especially with the confirmation of numerous reports that Nintendo is officially ready to reveal the next generation in 2024.

According to a new report from MoneyDJ, case manufacturer Hongzhun is forecasting its revenue for the second half of the year, and this is partly due to Nintendo, as the company says the Nintendo Switch 2 (as it's called) will launch in the first quarter of this year. Year 2024.

We don't actually know if the report was referring to the first quarter of the calendar year or the fiscal year, but it will most likely be the first quarter of the fiscal year, given that Nintendo has ruled out releasing new devices for the current fiscal year ending in March 2024, and this is very consistent with the report.

In early 2023, reports claimed that Nintendo had begun negotiations with suppliers to produce the next-generation platform, while shortly thereafter, Sharp's CEO said the company was manufacturing LCD screens for an upcoming new platform, as reports claimed that work on Nintendo's next-generation platform is progressing well. It's good, but it won't be released until spring 2024, and recent reports claim that a Spanish studio has already received the company's latest hardware.
