This year is coming to an end and now we know who is the most successful game of the year in terms of sales and reviews. With great merit, the game Elden Ring is on the throne of successful games, but what does its director think?
The Elden Ring, which has sold over 17 million copies and is the highest-rated new game of the year, took home a slew of awards today. Including the Grand Prize (for the best-selling game by a developer in Asia) and the User’s Choice Award.
Responding to these achievements and triumphs in an interview with Famitsu, Miyazaki said he was particularly honored by the Users' Choice Award. The director was asked why he thought Elden Ring had been a critical and commercial success. He responded:
He doesn't try to pay much attention to the reasons, I get confused when people ask me why [نجاحها]. But I feel like I don't intend to change the way I've been doing things in the future.
I try not to think about it too much, because it might become a distraction when I do the next project. However, I am very grateful and proud.
Miyazaki added that he personally tries not to look directly at user opinions. This is because he cannot listen to the opinions of all players. Because if he does, the voices and opinions he hears will have a powerful influence on his future decisions.
He also said that he was careful not to put other people's opinions directly into his mind. However, when he heard the opinions, he felt proud and it motivated him to continue working and releasing many illustrious titles.
This year, the game's closest competitor in terms of ratings was God of War Ragnarok. Where it scored 94 out of 100, while Miyazaki's game got a rating of 96 out of 100. Does the game deserve all this success before setting up its competition for the Game of the Year title at The Game Awards 2022 next week, in your opinion..?
