It's been a long time since we heard any new news about the upcoming Payday 3 game. But one of its developers has reassured gamers, saying that they are steadily moving forward in the development process of the series, but are in dire need of a publisher at the moment.
Tobias Shogren, head of Payday 3 developer Starbreeze, recently spoke to IGN about the game and its development process. He confirmed that the game is on track for release next year and continued:
The game is going to be really cool. I'm really excited to tell you more about it, but we can't at the moment. But the game is going to be really interesting.
The developers have mentioned how the characters will venture into a world of software giants, cryptocurrency, mass surveillance, and the dark web. It will also affect the tools and equipment used to complete the heists in the game. The studio also showed off some artwork during one of the live streams, but there is no update on the trailer yet. Hopefully, we will get information about the game's release date once things finally look good for the Starbreeze development team.
Here is some information about the development team and the game:
- The main product of the game is the product of the previous part and is called Tobias, It will be assisted by another product called Cuba.
- The new part has entered full development and will see the return of the main gang from the previous part.
- Enemies will retain their shape from the previous part, and more settings and a variety of weapons will be added to them.
- The entire story of the PAYDAY gang will be shared in the next part. There will be areas familiar to players from the previous parts and completely new areas until they are arranged according to the story timeline.
- Weapons will witness a great diversity that satisfies most players, with the ability to add more of them in future updates or post-launch content.
- Finally, all complaints about players were taken into account and improved, removed or improved in the next part. Including, for example, the range of weapons, which was considered too short, especially in the online phase and aimed at police officers.
